Side-by-Side Racing

Two-Day Event: The Great American Professional Hill Climb is one of the Nation’s Largest Hill Climbs and is Billings, Montana’s premier outdoor moto event with event features including racing under the lights, side-by-side racing under the lights and new extreme hill designs and courses for each day.

So fasten your seat belts and mark your calendars for one of Billings Montana’s longest-running and extreme outdoor entertainment events … The BMC’s Great American Championship Hill Climb! This special event and the gnarly, unparalleled vertical mountain terrain found only at the BMC grounds, truly make it The Hill Climbing Capitol of the World.®

The largest Champion purse and the rights to one of the most prestigious hill climbing championships, attracts professional motorcycle athletes from local, regional, national and international locations. Spectators come from around the Nation and Canada, filling the viewing areas and beyond to witness the pro champion riders and qualified challengers battle it out to the top of BMC’s Great American Hill. The 2-day event begins on Friday with afternoon and evening races that lead into the night with stunning vertical Side-by-Side “Showdown” racing under the lights. Saturday includes 601 cc bike, exhibition racing and later, the famous battles under the lights including side-by-side races. Saturday night the Great American Champion will be crowned.

Saturday July 29th: 11AM to 11:30 PM (Side-by-Side Racing Under the Lights)

  • Possible Finish of 0-600 cc Pro Altered Class)
  • 0-700 cc Exhibition Class (11AM-2PM)
  • Open Exhibition Class (2PM-5PM)
  • 450 cc Side by Side Vertical Showdown Top 20 Finals (6-8PM)
  • Great American Pro Hill Climb Championship Class (8-11:30PM)

Spectator Entry Fee

At the event gate only. $15 Adult, one day or $25 for both days (wristbands). Kids 10 and under Free with paid adult.

Plenty of Camping Available

Park big rigs, pitch tents anything you want in a designated spot. $30 All weekend. No hook-Ups. Concessions available and service nearby.

Parking, Camping, Food, Beverage and Spectators

Plenty of parking and a variety of food and beverage concessions are available. Bring your lawn chairs, canopies, tarp covers, toy haulers, campers, trailers, tailgate set-ups and other outdoor supplies for a wonderful weekend of watching. Camping and RV-Day spots are available: Tent $20 or RV/Trailer $30 for the weekend. RVs and Trailers coming in for the Day only is $10.

Buffalo, Wyoming Pro Hill Climb @ Meadowlark Ski Resort

Pro Hill Climb in Buffalo Wyoming

Every autumn, the BMC hosts a Pro Hill Climb, this year it is at Buffalo, Wyoming at Meadowlark Ski Resort. This Pro Hill Climb attracts professional athletes from around the region and Canada, not to mention a dedicated crowd of hill climbing fans that come out to watch the motorcycles rip up an unusual course—a gnarly ski run in the summer season!

Spectators enjoy professional hill climbers competing against each other side-by-side, Showdown-style, under the lights up an extreme multi-phase course to the top of a challenging hill in Buffalo, Wyoming.

Fall Hill Climb @ Billings Motorcycle Club

As the fall season closes, the BMC hosts its final Hill Climb of the year with the Fall Hill Climb. This Hill Climb is an annual autumn Billings Hill Climb with hundreds of professional competitors from the region, competing for thousands of dollars in champion money as they rip their way to the top of the Eastern BMC Hill course over hardcore terrain, past vertical cliffs and challenging obstacles.

With the new terrain engineering and motocross-style start sections, the pros are preparing their high-powered motorcycles and vertical warrior gear for extreme Fall mountain challenges. Event starts at 10AM and goes until 5PM.

Entry Fee

Adults $10, Kids 10 and under Free with paid adult. Competitor sign-up fees are separate.

Saturday Sept 23: Pits and limited sign-ups will open at 9:30 a.m. No Riding, pit set up only.

Sunday Sept 24: Full sign ups open from 7 until 9:30 with riding starting at 10
